Both the streaming and physical releases will include a slew of bonus features, including deleted scenes, extended cuts, a full-length sing-along version, a 40-minute behind-the-scenes look at the movie and audio commentary from director Jon M. Chu, Grande and Erivo. When Will ‘Wicked: For Good’ Be Released? A sequel, titled Wicked: For Good, is already in production and has a scheduled premiere date of November 21. What People Are Saying: Erivo opened up about her friendship and connection with Grande during an appearance on CBS Mornings earlier this month: “She came to my house, we sat, we chatted and talked. And we just talked about everything and nothing. We were there for ages and it was very, very easy, so part of us kind of knew, ‘Oh, this might, this might work. We’ll be OK and I think we’ll be able to get along with each other and we’ll find it.'” Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, praised Wicked in an interview with NBC: “The massive success of Wicked was the result of Universal’s perfectly executed strategic plan that supported a great filmmaker’s vision to bring a sweeping Broadway classic to the big screen. Eager audiences around the globe received an Oscar-caliber film backed by a studio whose marketing and distribution teams were clearly enthusiastically and emotionally vested in the movie.” He added: “By leaning into the musically driven aspect, as well as a cast and creative team passionately committed to delivering an amazing, in-theater experience to moviegoers worldwide, Universal hit both innovative and financial pay dirt.”
