A toddler is going viral with her hilarious rendition of a plaintive Beatles classic, and her mom told Newsweek how her girl likes to take a sad song, and make it LOUDER!
Little Ivy made the track her own when Rachael and Ady Hampshire took their two children out for a walk around Hebden Bridge—a market town in the north of England, where the couple had their first date.
But instead of a tranquil stroll in the Pennines of West Yorkshire, Ivy had other ideas and began singing Hey Jude by The Beatles—although her version sounded a little different to the warm and soothing vocals of Paul McCartney.
Ivy, 2, loves to sing and was described as “outgoing” by her mom Rachael Hampshire.

Strapped to her father’s back, Ivy starts off quietly in the TikTok video but gets louder and louder with every verse until she gets to the line “take a sad song and make it better.” She throws her head back and shouts passionately, making her mom laugh.
Rachael wrote on the text overlay: “Take your kids on a nice hike to aggressively sing Hey Jude, with a cry-laughing emoji.
There is method to her madness though, as Rachael told Newsweek: “She likes this song by The Beatles as her brother is called Jude. She loves to sing and dance, and is just super outgoing in general.”
Rachael’s clip has gone viral on TikTok (@rachaelhampshire) clocking up over 767,000 views and over 92,000 likes.
TikTok users couldn’t get enough of the two-year-old’s antics, one calling it the “best cover version of a classic” they’d ever heard.
Many others joked that the clip of little Ivy looked very familiar to them but in a completely different way. The most-liked comment read: “I have been carried home from the pub in a very similar position in the past tbf.”
Another fellow mom shared that her daughter used to do the same thing to her with a 70s classic, although in this case the loud delivery is appropriate. “My daughter woke me up singing Tina Turner Proud Mary at about the same age. Such good musical knowledge!” she wrote.
It appeared Ivy wasn’t the only one who likes to get their aggression out on a walk. One user said they felt the clip in their soul. “Might start aggressively shouting affirmations to myself on my walks,” they laughed.
