A farm owner in Montana filmed the moment her horse met a baby donkey for the first time, capturing the hearts of social media users.
The clip, which TikTok user @mr.winslow posted on December 21, shows the owner holding the baby donkey, Frosty, close to the horse, Chip, who gently checks him out with his nose. The donkey’s father can be heard braying in the background.
“Chip has been pacing back and forth watching Frost,” the poster wrote in text that appears in the video, “so I introduced them.”
Newsweek has contacted @mr.winslow for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.

Horses and donkeys often get confused because of their similar appearance. However, while they are both equines, they are not the same species.
On VetExplainsPets.com, Dr. Jess Kirk wrote that while horses and donkeys can live together peacefully and require similar care in terms of feeding and grooming, they require different training methods.
Both animals can be good companions for humans, providing emotional support, and can be trained for various competitions and shows, such as dressage, jumping, driving and agility.
The main differences between the two are their size and strength. Horses are usually much larger and more powerful, able to carry heavier loads for longer distances, while donkeys are smaller and more agile.
While horses are known for their intelligence and sensitivity, donkeys are more stubborn and independent, but they can both be loyal and affectionate toward their owners.
Donkeys are also more prone to health issues, such as dental problems and skin conditions, that may require specialized care.
