NASCAR driver Christopher Bell has confirmed his plans to make a comeback to dirt racing in 2025. Bell has decided to race outside his usual NASCAR events, despite his contract with Joe Gibbs Racing.
Joe Gibbs Racing previously had restrictions on drivers participating in other forms of racing. However, recent changes to these rules have opened the door for a return for Bell.
Before making a name for himself in NASCAR as the driver of the No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, Christopher Bell excelled in racing on dirt tracks. His background in sprint cars and midget racing was a major part of his early career.
Bell had initially faced restrictions from Joe Gibbs Racing when it came to dirt racing, causing him to take a step back from that world for a while. However, recent developments indicate that these restrictions have been eased.

Bell has an exciting schedule lined up for 2025. He will make his first appearance in a 410 winged sprint car since June 2022. The action begins at the DIRTcar Nationals held at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park on February 5, 2025. This event is part of the prestigious World of Outlaws series. Additionally, there is potential for a race on February 6 at Volusia, which hinges on the outcomes of the initial race.
Later, on March 13, 2025, Bell will participate in the Kubota High Limit Racing season opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Before the Volusia race, a practice session is scheduled for February 4.
Kreitz Racing will partner with Bell for these events, providing their No. 69K car for Bell to drive. Don Kreitz, who heads Kreitz Racing, commented to FloRacing:
“It’s amazing. It’s hard to believe that it’s really going to happen.
“Naturally he’s one of the top drivers in the world as far as being able to run different stuff and run good in everything. He’s really versatile and seems he was raised right, very polite.”
Bell also said:
“Watching the 69K run over the years has been super impressive. Don and the Kreitz team are top notch and I’m excited to see what it’s like to drive.
“I’ve been out of Sprint Car racing for a while, so I’m looking forward to getting my feet wet and see how comfortable I am in my return.
Beyond these initial races, there are no additional races scheduled. However, should his return go well, there is potential for more racing opportunities. Kreitz added:
“I don’t know with his schedule. There’s nothing planned after that.
“His quote to me was, ‘It’s been a minute since I was in a Sprint Car, it’d be nice if we could get out somewhere before Vegas.’
“He said something about Volusia, and that’s like another month earlier than what I usually run around here (in Central Pennsylvania).”
