A cat owner from South Carolina has gone viral on TikTok after revealing the reason she spent £200 at the veterinarian, and now internet users can’t stop laughing.
In a clip shared in December under the username @lucyelesee, the poster looks relieved yet disappointed as she films her cat chilling on a chair at the veterinarian clinic after getting the unexpected diagnosis. “Just paid $200 to find out he’s stressed because we changed wet cat food types,” reads the caption. Newsweek reached out to @lucyelesee for comment via TikTok comments. We could not verify the details of the case.

Cats are obligate carnivores, who, according to the Cornell Feline Health Center, rely on nutrients that are found only in animal products. Their diet mostly requires protein, fat, and some carbohydrates, but cats also need more than a dozen other nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and amino acids.
That’s why it is important to feed felines a high-quality diet specifically formulated for them, to ensure they get all the vitamins and nutrients they need for a healthy lifestyle.
Always check that the food you are buying for your cat is certified by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) on the packaging.
Many cat owners choose a diet based entirely on dry food, and while it can be complete and balanced, sometimes it is not enough.
In a Vet Explains Pets article, Georgia-based veterinarian Jess Kirk suggests rotating different protein sources, and supplementing with wet food will add variety to your cat’s diet and ensure they are getting all the necessary nutrients.
An exclusively dry food diet can also cause digestive issues, such as constipation or diarrhea, in which case you should consult your veterinarian.
