They reportedly had Juan Soto and Corbin Burnes on their mind, but ultimately the Blue Jays fell short of all of their top targets. In the middle of this hectic offseason, Soto’s $765 million contract likely caused Blue Jays’ first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s price to rise quite a bit. Guerrero is projected to sign for over $400 million next offseason, per Spotrac, but his price could end up even higher than that. With that in mind, the Blue Jays may look to trade him rather than holding onto him and risking losing him in free agency for nothing.
