Jade Cargill has been missing in action from WWE since a surprise attack in November, but now she’s posted a new (and gory) picture of herself on social media that is making fans wonder exactly what her return to the ring will entail.

More News: Baron Corbin Says He’s Officially Done With WWE Contract
In a new picture posted to her various social media accounts, Cargill appears to be absolutely soaked in blood (or, at least, some red fluid) while wearing a near-invisible body suit. She is standing outside an empty lot surrounded by chain link fence and barbed wire, while dead leaves surround her.
Needless to say, it is a foreboding image, and it may be teasing a change to the former AEW TBS Champion’s image. While a previous social media post showed Cargill with a streak of blood on her face, it has nothing on this one.

Cargill’s in-stage persona has been modeled (in appearance, certainly) on the “X-Men” character Storm, down to the shock-white hair. In an interview with Women’s Wrestling Talk, the wrestler expressed her desire to join Marvel in some capacity.
“Marvel, holler at me, I want to be Storm so damn bad,” Cargill said. “My entire career and aesthetic for AEW is literally Storm, literally. I’m a strong black woman and I take no crap from anyone.”
This new picture, however, looks a bit less like Ororo Munroe and more like Carrie White, the protagonist of the Stephen King novel “Carrie” and most famously played by Sissy Spacek in the 1976 film adaptation by Brian De Palma.
Both the novel and various film adaptations culminate in the bullied and humiliated Carrie being doused in pig blood and taking violent revenge on all who wronged her.

Speaking of violent revenge for bullying, Cargill has been absent from WWE since November 22, when she was attacked by still-unknown assailants on an episode of SmackDown.
Cargill was discovered injured, lying on top of a car after being thrown through its front window. The shocking scene played out on the big screen, prompting her tag team partner, Bianca Belair, to immediately rush backstage.
In a bold move, Belair chose to forfeit her opportunity to become the first-ever Women’s United States Champion to support Cargill.
There has been speculation that the attack is part of a storyline designed to explain a legitimate injury, similar to past angles such as Rhea Ripley’s attack by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, which was used to cover a real fracture, or Cody Rhodes’ “spinal injury” angle following his encounter with Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Some reports suggest that Cargill’s absence is indeed a planned part of WWE’s ongoing storyline. However, it remains unclear why no one has taken credit for the attack, as is typically expected in such angles.
But if these cryptic social media images are teeing up a revenge-driven persona change for Cargill, she could do a lot worse than take inspiration from “Carrie.”
