Family Go To Pick Up Pizza, Unprepared for What They Come Home With

A Kansas-based family have delighted viewers online after sharing an image of the stray cat they found and later adopted while picking up a takeout pizza. “Cats get abandoned in our neighborhood pretty often, mostly males,” Katie, who wants to keep her full identity private, told Newsweek. “Last year, my wife and daughter went out to pick up pizza. My daughter spotted a kitten running next to the road, and they got out of the car to help him.” Simon was found with injuries to the head and back end, and his eyes were swollen. Katie’s wife and daughter assumed that the two-month-old had been attacked, or that something had tried to eat him while he roamed the streets alone. He was also covered in fleas, but despite the challenge of aiding in his recovery, the three of them decided to take him home. Katie put the image of the orange tabby on Reddit, and the December 22 post has been upvoted more than 5,800 times, amassing more than 150 comments. Simon the rescue cat at his new home. Those get headbutted right out of your hand!” Viewers on Reddit have gushed over the image of the rescue cat, looking happy and healthy in his new home. Several have joked about what the right choice of name would have been for the kitten, after Katie shared the family’s choice of name for him in the post. “I assumed from the title that you would have named the cat Pizza! But, yeah, Simon is a legit name, too,” one viewer said. Another added: “I am still voting ‘Pizza’. Or maybe at least a middle name?” Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
