One dog’s ingenious use of her owner’s blue blanket has gained her viral attention, winning the hearts of millions of viewers on TikTok.
A clever beagle named Nebula was caught on camera in the moment her owner realized the real reason she had put holes in all of their blankets. In the video on TikTok, with over 1.5 million views, Nebula was sitting on the couch, peering through a carefully positioned hole in the blanket to keep an eye on her surroundings.
“When you finally figure out why she made holes in her blankets,” said the text overlay in the video by @nebulaenvigobeag_budbeag.
The beagle breed was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1885, and they are currently the 8th-most-popular dog breed in the U.S. Initially bred in 16th-century England as scent hounds for hunting small game, today they are most popular as family pets, but are also often used by government agencies to sniff out illegal food, drugs and explosives at airports and border crossings, or as therapy and service dogs due to their gentle disposition.

As Nebula’s adorable under-the-blanket antics gained viral attention, people suggested the real reason for her keeping an eye on things was because of FOMO or “Fear of Missing Out,” instead opting to monitor the household activity through her DIY observation portal.
Viewer Sarah said “Shhhhh she’s incognito.” while TikToker Tanya wrote: “That is the cutest form of FOMO.”
“Honestly that’s so innovative of her,” wrote Señorita Awesome, and ec3324 agreed, pointing out that she was “staying warm and keeping an eye on everything and everyone.”

Others, like Maddy, were inspired. She wrote: “I think I want one of these for myself.”
FOMO, or fear of missing out, is the fear of not doing enough or not being enough, and it’s becoming increasingly more prevalent, especially among teenagers and young adults, and, it turns out, pets.
Earlier this year, Winnie the dog went viral when he was trying hard to keep his eyes open and enjoy the car ride, before eventually allowing himself to fall back and take a much-needed nap.
Similarly, a goldendoodle went viral in August. He was determined to be involved in his owner’s workout, sticking his head through the cat flap while she lifted weights in the garage in a hilarious viral video.
