A dog owner from Massachusetts captured her golden retriever’s reaction when he learned that his girlfriend was coming over, and internet users can’t cope with it.
The TikTok video shared earlier in December by @bennythegoldennn shows the pup getting all excited about his girlfriend, Quincy, in a car pulling up his driveway, wagging his tail as he gets up to wait for her by the door. “Telling Benny his girlfriend is coming over for a sleepover,” reads layover text in the clip.
As Quincy is let out the car, the pups finally start chasing each other playfully, almost knocking off the corridor mirror. Newsweek reached out to @bennythegoldennn for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.

While dogs do not need other dogs in their life, they may benefit from their presence, according to an article by the pet wellness website Hepper, medically reviewed by Dr. Lorna Whittemore.
Hanging out with other dogs helps your pup learn social cues and burn excess energy in a way that it is unlike what we as their owners can provide. However, some dogs don’t like other canines. So, how do you know if your pup needs a friend?
Signs to look out for, according to Ramsgate Veterinary Clinic in Waco, Texas, include unusual changes in behavior, loss of appetite, excessive thirst and urination, difficulty moving, limping, or showing signs of pain, sudden change in weight, changes in your dog’s coat, and persistent cough or choking.
When getting your pup a playmate, it is better to pair them with a dog that has a similar personality and energy levels. While different-sized dogs can be best friends, it is important to keep their interactions supervised until you know they are safe with one another.
If you are looking for a new friend for your pup, a Dogster article medically reviewed by Dr. Chyrle Bonk suggests reaching out to family and friends to arrange a playdate with their dog.
Canine parks, meet-up groups, dog-friendly establishments, and obedience classes are always great places for your pet to make new friends.
