Titans HC Brian Callahan Plans to Play Both Will Levis and Mason Rudolph in Season Finale

Week 18 is upon us and for teams that are tanking for a high draft selection, anything goes at this point. Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said that he plans to play both of his quarterbacks against the Houston Texans on Sunday, per Ian Rapoport. “#Titans coach Brian Callahan tells reporters that both QBs Will Levis and Mason Rudolph will play on Sunday. A final look for Tennessee, which currently holds the No. 2 pick,” Rapoport said on X. #Titans coach Brian Callahan tells reporters that both QBs Will Levis and Mason Rudolph will play on Sunday. I’ll let you know by the end of the week, (who’s) the starter and all of that. But I think both guys should play some football at the end of the year.” Rudolph, who started the last two games, completed 19-of-31 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Titans’ 20-13 loss to the Jaguars this week. Overall, Rudolph has started five games this season, while Levis has started the other 11. Callahan mentioned that if the Titans had won those two games, he likely would have continued with Rudolph as the starter for the remainder of the season, but alas, Levis’ season is not over. “It would be different had we won two games in a row with Mason, but we haven’t,’ Callahan said. “We are where we are with our game performance and our record.” Levis was the season-opening starter, but hasn’t shown enough to convince the Titans that he’s the long-term solution. His sophomore season has been flooded with boneheaded decisions that have led to turnovers while not generating enough production on paper either. “So, we’ll let Will get another shot at throwing the ball around a little bit and playing some football. He’s been really professional in his approach, how it’s all gone. I think he’s earned a right to go play a little more football just because of the way he’s handled the entire process. He’ll get a chance to play a little bit more,” said Callahan. Since the Titans currently hold the No. 2 overall pick behind the New England Patriots, who took Drake Maye last draft, they would be guaranteed to get either Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward in April.
